Creative Kit: 1 box per month for as long as you are subscribed.

We have DOZENS of toys lined up for years of engineering education and fun.

Not right now. We put a lot of thought into the box sequencing of our three subscription lines to optimize learning and having a good time.

Basically, we’ve carefully sequenced the boxes to maximize learning and fun. Trust us, you’re gonna have a blast.

Each box is unique and part of a carefully designed sequence. So no, we won’t send the same box twice in a subscription.

• Our toys grow on trees. We use as much wood as possible in the design of our toys.
• Our toys stay out of the landfill longer. We make our toys robust and repairable so they can be enjoyed for as long as possible.

When you're ready to renew your subscription, you can easily manage the renewal through your account portal. It's best to renew through your account portal so you continue to get new boxes in the sequence.

Basically, we’re a company full of well-educated grownups with child-like imaginations. We’re always thinking up TONS of new ideas, and then prototype the ones that are the most exciting.

After that, we keep prototyping, and then prototype some more, and then cut the ones that don’t make us giggle till we pee, and then get some helpful kids and lucky adults to play with the ones that do, and then guess what? More prototypes, and then something stops working, so we make more prototypes, and then we think it’s finished, and then somebody goes “what if…” and we all go, that’s way more awesome, so then (you know where this is going)… new prototype, tons of fun, we giggle, somebody pees, and it goes on like that.

We keep building and testing and rebuilding and retesting until it’s as awesome as it can be. “Think Like an Engineer” is our internal motto too, so only the best of the very best, A+, all-star, home run ideas make into your Build Box or Hack Pack subscription.

Creative Kit is a monthly build-it-yourself toy for kids ages 6-10. Each Creative Kit teaches kids creative thinking and shows them how it’s used in the real world, giving kids exposure to awesome jobs while having fun. We want to encourage kids to dream big when they’re using their imagination, and dream BIG for their future.

Yes! We design each toy to be a little bit challenging for kids 6–10, in the same way a good puzzle is challenging.

Each box has materials to guide you:

• A step-by-step illustrated instruction booklet

• An instruction video where Mark Rober walks builders through each step

With the help of the instruction video and booklet (and just a dash of tenacity!) most kids are able to make and play independently with Creative Kit.

CrunchLabs Creative Kit boxes are designed for kids ages 6-10.

We test every product with 3rd-party testing agencies to ensure the products comply with US and EU safety standards for kids aged 6 years and older.

Parents and guardians can gauge the appropriateness for their kids, but we have worked hard to ensure that they’re a blast for the intended age range - and for anyone who loves learning!

Nope! All the materials you need to make the toy is included in the Creative Kit Box but you might need scissors sometimes.

You will need an Internet connection and a kid-safe device to watch the Mark Rober instructional video episode, but you don’t need the video episode to complete the build! All the build steps can be found in the instruction booklet included in every box.

But, sometimes in engineering, stuff goes wrong. If any components are missing, go to your My Account portal and visit the page for your toy to order FREE replacement parts. If you have further questions contact [email protected]. 

We design each Creative Kit toy to take an average 30 to 60 minutes for a 6 to 10-year-old to create.

Every kid is different, and build times will vary!

Currently, we don’t offer an option to purchase individual Creative Kit boxes (though that may come down the road). We have carefully crafted multiple years of engineering fun and learning into our box sequences, so we think a subscription is the best.

However, refill packs for Creative Kit components are estimated to be available in 2026, so stay tuned.

The safety standards check that the toy is safe and sturdy for its intended play, and that unsafe chemicals don’t make their way into the toy during production.

Yes! You can pause your subscription at any time for up to 3 months by accessing your account dashboard. You can also reverse a paused subscription at any time. If you're having trouble pausing your subscription you can always contact customer service ([email protected]) to pause or unpause for you. Helpful nerds are standing by!

We want to do everything within our power to make sure you have a great experience with CrunchLabs. Here's our cancellation policy:

• Pay Annually plans: 12 month prepaid annual subscriptions are not eligible for early cancellation. 

• Pay Monthly plans: 12 month annual subscriptions on a monthly payment plan are annual subscriptions and are not eligible for early cancellation.

• Pay Quarterly plans: 3 month subscriptions can be canceled at any time at the end of the 3 month billing period.

If you’re not satisfied, please email us at [email protected] and share your concerns.

Navigate to your account portal and select "turn off auto-renewal" 3 days before your next billing date (as shown in your account portal). If your subscription is currently processing an order or shipment, you may not see the option to turn off auto-renewal until after the order has shipped.

We’re pretty stoked you and your young engineers are growing your brains so much with CrunchLabs subscriptions. Here’s what you need to know about switching subscription lines:

We will apply a credit of any unshipped boxes towards the cost of the new Creative Kit subscription. If switching from Build Box to Creative Kit, the cost is the same. You’ll be switched to your new subscription right away and will start receiving your first Creative Kit boxes, hurray! Please note: you will not be able to complete the year of your original subscription

If switching from Build Box still sounds like the right choice for you, reach out to [email protected] to get started.

Yes. At the end of each billing cycle (whether that’s monthly or annually or whatever you signed up for), your subscription will renew. However, you can change this at any time from your Account Dashboard once logged in.

Nope! We don’t store any credit card or other payment method information at CrunchLabs because we rely on a 3rd-party payment processor.

We currently accept payment through our website through Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Facebook Pay.

Hack Pack is a robot-in-a-box! Designed for ages 14+, the specially designed Hack Pack boxes guides anyone, from those new to coding to master hackers, into the world of mechatronics where robotics and coding meet.

Each box includes all the materials you need to build a robot at home:

• Mark Rober’s step-by-step YouTube videos
• Extra behind-the-scenes coding you can take off-rails
• Level up by hacking the computer brains of any of the Hack Pack robots

Nope! Hack Pack robots will work right out of the box. Here’s the inside scoop: if you can put together a Lego set, you can definitely build these robots and we provide all the materials required.

But get this: Hack Pack can be completely leveled up by hacking the main computer controller, unlocking plenty of challenges and fun for anyone, from those new to coding to master hackers.

Nope! We think we thought of everything. All the stuff you need to make the robots are included in the Hack Pack boxes, even batteries.

You will need an Internet connection and a device to watch the Mark Rober video episode, but you don’t need the video episode to complete the build.

In the instructional booklet, we do offer ideas for additional games and challenges that may require other materials – but those are supplemental and not required for the main build and hack.

Sometimes in engineering, stuff goes wrong. On the off chance there are parts missing, go to your My Account portal and visit the pafe for your Hack Pack box. Fill out the form to request FREE replacement parts. If you have further questions contact [email protected].

Currently, we don’t offer an option to purchase individual Hack Pack boxes. We have spent the last two years engineering all the mechatronically information and heady hacking fun into each box, so we think a subscription is the best.

Our Hack Pack boxes are (mostly) designed for one user, so we recommend a subscription for each human. Besides, how are you supposed to defend your candy stash without a password protected IR Turret?

Yes. You can easily update your shipping address anytime by accessing your CrunchLabs account portal.

You will receive an email notification once your Creative Kit, Build Box, or Hack Pack box is shipped. You can also get tracking details through your My Account portal.

Remember: Creative Kit and Build Box plans ship each month and Hack Pack plans ship every other month.

• Subscriptions and bulk orders are not eligible for returns or refunds.
• Store items can be returned for a full refund if the items are unused, undamaged, and purchased within 60 days. Return label is not included, customer is responsible for return shipping.
• Books subscriptions and book bundles are eligible for cancellation; we will only refund shipments that haven't shipped yet.

European Union: to comply with new rules regarding withdrawals, EU customers can Submit Your Request by Form or email [email protected] up to 14 days after placing their order, and our customer support team will process the withdrawal (cancellation) and refund.

Please note: All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and return packages must be in the original packaging and include the following information: customer name, order number, and reason for return. CrunchLabs will inspect returned products upon receipt and issue refunds within 30 days to the original form of payment.

Yes! When you refer someone to CrunchLabs, or subscribe yourself via a referral link, you will earn a coupon code (to be delivered via email). You may use up to 5 coupon codes per checkout experience. Keep in mind, you can only use a given coupon code once.

How it works: CrunchLabs provides the sponsorship to our partner FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). This global nonprofit organization distributes boxes to kids that wouldn't otherwise have access to CrunchLabs subscriptions.
